- cf.Objective() 2013 Day 0 & 1

So this year cf.Objective() is pretty special to me. My first ever ColdFusion conference was the final cfUnited in 2010. I had been a community "lurker" for about 10 years prior to that. After that first ColdFusion conference it re-energized me and I have been actively involved as much as possible. This year at cf.Objective() 2013 I was invited by Jared Rypka-Hauer to be on the Steering Committee and the Content Advisory Board (CAB.) It was a daunting challenge, Bob Silverberg had that job the years prior and always did an excellent job. But with guidance from my fellow CAB members, Dan Wilson, Emily Christensen, Simon "The Face" Free and particularly Jason Dean we managed to line up what we felt was very compelling content. But you know what they say about "the best laid plans" "they Gang aft a-gley An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain" Whatever that means. So how was day 1?

When ColdFusion 10 was in early beta, I was really interested in playing with web sockets. Unfortunately I was only *playing* with them, I didn't have a real world need. So when Ray Camden wrote several demos that showed how web sockets would work, I ran the code, saw that it worked and then moved on to test something else. Long story short, I understood the principles of web sockets, without really know how to write one: till now.
